Who we are

We are a group of four friends who know each other for many years. Over the years, we built our families and careers. We started to dream and talk about buying a land and create an ecological off-grid project 11 years ago.

we started a long research and search for a land. Originally, we didn't have a specific continent or country preferences. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we realized that Europe in general and Spain in particular can offer us what we are looking for. We traveled the country for few years until we discovered Sierra de Gredos in 2020 (by chance - we looked for a campsite on the way from north of Spain to the South).

We fell in love with the peaceful energy of the area, the green nature and endless of springs and rivers. We learned that the locals call the area "the forgotten land". The mountains hills full of oak and pine trees, lavender and rosemary bushes

Now,  three years since the first time we visited our land and endless trips to the area, we are ready to start with the first phase of our journey - the creation of the base camp. We are inviting people from around the world to join us, as partners, visitors and volunteers, to create a unique and special experience in the heart of Sierra de Gredos.

The area.

The De La Vera route, a hidden gem in Extremadura, Spain, combines all of nature's best elements seamlessly. Abundant with oak and pine forests, meadows, and wildflower fields, this area boasts a diverse array of wildlife. Influenced by the mountains, it features a unique microclimate with mild winters (3°C-13°C) and warm summers (18°C-42°C). With over 40 rivers flowing through, this region is a true haven of natural wonders. Villanueva de la Vera, a municipality in the province of Cáceres, is situated at the junction of the Tagus, Alagón, and Tiétar rivers. A sought-after destination for tourists, it captivates with its natural beauty, offering picturesque views of the countryside, rivers, and mountains. The town is celebrated for its traditional architecture, including landmarks such as the Palacio de los Golfines, the Río Tiétar Walkway, and the Cistercian Monastery of Yuste. Moreover, it is renowned for its delectable local cuisine, as well as its vibrant festivals and events. The region has evolved into a hub for ecological and off-grid projects, attracting a diverse international community of over 42 nationalities in Villanueva de la Vera alone.
